Arnos Vale Wedding Photos – Intimate alternative woodland wedding

Today I bring to you some Arnos Vale wedding photos. You wouldn’t think you could have a Bristol forest wedding but Arnos Vale Cemetery is a unique space for weddings, it has a couple of cool buildings to use but if you go in a little deeper you will find this amazing woodland setting! This is the setting that Rachel and Gavin chose for their intimate celebration and it was stunning! You’d never know you were so close to Bristol city centre. Playing in the trees is my happy place so I was mega excited that Rachel and Gavin chose me to be there with them in the magic, I loved every second of it and so I was ecstatic to receive this message from the couple straight after the wedding:

“Just wanted to drop you a quick line to say a huge thank you from both of us for making our day so special yesterday! You brought such energy and enthusiasm to the day, I have no doubt that will shine through in the photos as we felt so at ease in your company.”

Their wedding took place when COVID restrictions limited guests and the level of celebration which lead to them having 16 of their favourite people with them. How special those people must have felt to be included and also how special to keep your celebration so intimate and get real quality time with your guests. The restrictions at the time also meant that they could not have a sit down meal, but luckily Rachel is a trained chef and supplied individual picnic boxes for each household attending. I LOVE this idea, I love it for any wedding, for me, a super relaxed picnic is an ideal way to share food on your wedding day. Rachel also did all the decorations alongside the florist Lisa Tarrant from Berries and Blossom. Another wedding supplier to shout out is hair and make up Bombshell Makeup who made Rachel and her bridesmaids look incredible, I am obsessed with Rachel’s red hair!!

So as well as the ceremony, drinks, picnic and speeches we snuck in two lots of couple photos. One in the middle and one as everyone left, This meant we got to utilise the forest and cemetery as much as possible!
