I always say to my couples when we’re discussing their wedding day that it’s rare for it to rain for an entire day solid, yet with the weather we’ve had this ‘summer’ it was going to happen sooner or later wasn’t it? And it did, for Katherine and Ross who got married at Kingscote Barn in Gloucestershire. No light showers here, heavy heavy rain that didn’t stop for a moment, there was a small river running outside at one point. I always wondered what I’d do at Kingscote if we got a wet wedding there as people choose it for it’s gorgeous Cotswold surroundings as well as the barns charm, but now I know :) Katherine and Ross were all smiles as we went up into the gallery and made the most of the barns stunning beams and atmosphere, something that can probably get overlooked on a sunny day.
I started the day with Katherine, her sister, parents and beautiful daughter as well as a close friend and daughter at Spring Cottage in the Kingscote Barn grounds while Ross and his family were getting ready at the Byre, the newly converted barn also in the grounds and they communicated all morning via walkie talkies :) Also there was the wonderful Clare Bryce making all the ladies look gorgeous and if I can find/remember the name of the lovely hairdresser I will slot that in later :) Sorori Designs also popped in with their flowers, after making the barn look stunning! It was a full day that zoomed by for me made special by their families warmth, and as usual, here are some of my favourites:
