Recently Sarah and Ben got married at Clearwell Castle which is close to the Welsh border in Gloucestershire. This one was a particular pleasure for me as many years ago I met Sarah on our Art Foundation course, back when we were 18/19. This was where I first started with my photography, Sarah meanwhile specialised in sculpture. All those years ago I had no idea that one day I would be a wedding photographer or that I would get to see Sarah get married, it was pretty cool!
I started my day with Sarah and family (including Sarah and Ben’s little Eve who I photographed when she was a baby, thankfully she likes me a bit more now than she did then :) ) at Clearwell Castle. I left them part way through the getting ready process to run down to the boys who were getting ready at one of the Lodge’s on site before they made their way up to the castle where I raced back up to Sarah to get the rest of her getting ready. Sarah and Ben got married at Clearwell Castle itself and before long we were outside in the cold and the wind (it was VERY windy) taking some photos of them in the grounds before the threatening dark grey clouds in the distance were blown our way.
The other cool thing about this wedding is it’s CHRISTMAS!!!! So Clearwell Castle was all decorated with trees, candles and little Christmasy touches. I do love a Christmas wedding. Everyone at the castle were great and the guests and myself were very well looked after :) The rest of the day was very laid back with the guests enjoying the Christmas atmosphere before wandering downstairs to the vaulted cellar for the evening dancing. Here are some of my favourites from the day:
