Cirencester Wedding Photographer – Jemma and Matt – Stratton Church Cirencester and The Bear at Rodborough

I had been looking forward to photographing Jemma and Matt’s wedding since I shot their engagement shoot last autumn which you can see here./ I had been hoping so much for sunshine on their wedding day as we were planning on going onto Minchinhampton Common to take some photographs and I just knew it would look so much better with blue skies, that or really dark moody clouds. The day did not disappoint and it was the nicest day we’d had up this point this year, yay!
I started my day with Jemma, her family and her lovely bridesmaids at Jemma’s parents home in Cirencester, just up the road from Stratton Church where they were to be married. They had the lovely Clare Bryce there to do their make up and Sheena was there tirelessly working away for hours on all of their hair. The best part of the morning was when a car that Jemma’s parents had organised as a surprise turned up and Jemma couldn’t understand if it was for her or not :)
We then went down to Stratton Church in Cirencester for the ceremony. It’s such a lovely Church, one of the nicest in Cirencester for sure. I’ve photographed here a few times but this was only the second time with this particularly vicar who both times have asked the couple mid ceremony to turn and smile at me as they are putting on the rings. It’s so very sweet of him to do this (as he would allow me to use flash for this, although I don’t need it in there) but I always find it so very random as I’m photographing throughout the ceremony anyway and so to have them and then everyone become aware of me feels quite alien. Anyway, after the ceremony we stuck around a while to get some photographs at the Church as it’s so pretty there. We then made out way to Minchinhampton Common (at what felt like 5 miles an hour, the car was pretty slow :) ) to take some photos in the vast open space. I loved this part and I think Jemma and Matt did too as the views are breathtaking there but also because it’s really open and all the cars passing could see them so were honking their horns and even a police car went by and put his siren on for a split second for them. We then went onto the Bear at Rodborough for the rest of their celebration. In the reception area of Bear at Rodborough they have two stuffed bears, I used one of these to pose the bouquet, I’m not sure how I feel about how funny I find this photo!! Here are some of my favaourite photos I took that day, enjoy :)
