It was with great pleasure that I photographed another old school friend recently, Katie, who got married to the lovely Ernie at The Manor Barn in Winterbourne Stoke. This was my first time shooting at The Manor Barn, a relatively new wedding venue. It’s a fantastic setting with a laid back feel to it, it was great to see so many familiar faces as well as new ones enjoying Katie and Ernie’s day there.
Katie was getting ready just down the road at Rollestone Manor. I wasn’t due to cover the getting ready but I did start my day here for Katie’s big reveal to her family and pre ceremony drinks which was a lovely way for them all to start off the celebrations. I then wait straight to The Manor Barn where Ernie and the guests were waiting in the sunshine before their ceremony in the barn. After the ceremony, while everyone had some drinks, Katie, Ernie and I nipped off around the corner into The Manor House gardens which is only for the use of the bride and groom. I particularly enjoyed photographing these two as their love is obvious and the gardens were stunning with lots of little gems for us to sneak off into.
It was then time for everyone to go inside for the speeches. There were little party hats and crowns etc for everyone to wear for these and the meal which was comedy gold. The main course was everyone’s own choice of pie from Pieminister, it’s always exciting for me when I know Pieminister are catering as it means I definitely get a pie too :) The rest of the day was spent relaxing, laughing and some lively action on the dancefloor. Here is a selection of my favourites:
