Today on the blog is one of the prettiest days I’ve ever photographed from the wedding of two of the loveliest people, Mel and Chris. I photographed these two last Autumn for their pre wedding shoot and had such a great time with this pair that I couldn’t wait for their actual wedding. As I’ve already mentioned the prettiness I must mention both the florist and the stylist who transformed the already beautiful Old Down Manor with their talents, it was Hilary’s Floral Design and The Little Wedding Helper.
It was a lovely intimate start to the day as Mel got ready with just her Mum and Dad around so it was an extra privilege to be there around them at such a special time. They got ready at Old Down Manor’s own barn, Cross Hands Barn, but the rest of the day was at Old Down Manor itself. Their ceremony was very personal as they had written their own vows to share in front of their family and friends which had a serious and a slight comedy edge :) Straight after the ceremony they went off for a quick drive around in their wedding car before arriving back for some couple shots in the many many amazing spots that are at Old Down, before going in for their speeches and meal.
In the evening Mel had a hair and slight wardrobe change to give a second Wow entrance to the evening. They cut the cake Mel’s Mum has expertly made before going into their first dance and many more dances with their band, Bristol based, The Highjackers, who were quite frankly, fantastic! Here are my favourite photos from their day:
