If Carlsberg did weddings…. Laura and Matt got married recently at Minchinhampton Church and had their reception at Bibury Court. This was one of the most heartfelt and warming weddings I have photographed, I don’t even know where to begin :) Laura and Matt met in big smoke of London but found out that they actually grew up just a few villages apart in Gloucestershire! And so it’s Gloucestershire that they decided to get married in.
I started my day with Laura, her Mum and bridesmaids getting ready at Bibury Court, while the boys were nearby downstairs having a drink. Everyone made their way to Minchinhampton, Laura’s home village for their wedding ceremony. It’s a lovely, spacious and light church there with lots of space outside also for Laura and Matt to greet their guests after the ceremony in. Before making their way back to Bibury, through my hometown of Cirencester, which I was thankful for as I knew the roads well enough to nip past the wedding car and beat them there :D
When they arrived Laura was in for a big surprise as Matt had arranged a steel drum player, that they often hear at Islington station, to play for their arrival, Laura had really wanted this so it was quite a shock :) The day lacked sun but it was warm so we got lots of shots in the grounds before it was time for them to head in for the speeches. And three amazing speeches at that, all were great but I said it then and I’ll say it now, one of the best groom speeches I’ve ever heard. It’s such a great chance to tell everyone you love just what you think of them but such a difficult thing to do, so to do it in such a way that makes people both laugh and cry is a great achievement. The rest of the day was full of laughter and love and I will leave you now to look at some of my favourites from their day:
