When you think about beautiful places to spend your wedding day they don’t get much better than where Jo and Jamie chose to spend theirs. They got married at the absolutely stunning St. Michael and All Angels Church in Great Witley, spent a little time after in Witley Court next door and then went onto Curradine Barns! Big thanks to Marie Man for second shooting with me, if you visit my blog regularly you will know that I normally shoot alone however Jo and Jamie wanted the extra coverage for the day so it was nice to have Marie along with me.
I started my day however in the centre of Worcester at Wicked hair salon where Jo and friends were having their hair done, a lovely friendly salon which made a great start to the day. Meanwhile Marie was over with Jamie who was getting ready at his and Jo’s home while I made my way to Curradine Barns where Jo and her bridesmaids were to continue getting ready. Another thank you to Aleks at Curradine Barns who was so helpful all day, it’s so nice to have a coordinator that keeps in touch throughout the day to make sure we all know what’s happening. Curradine Barns has such a lovely feel to it so I was looking forward to getting back there after the ceremony.
St. Michael and All Angels Church is potentially the most beautiful church I’ve ever been in with gilded and painted ceilings and walls. The atmosphere was made even more special by the choir that were singing from up next to the organ. After a lovely and special ceremony Jo and Jamie, with all of their guests, made their way next door to Witley Court where we were to do their group photos and then to do some couple shots of Jo and Jamie. Witley Court is an English Heritage site and definitely worth a visit, there are far more grounds than we were able to see and make use of on the day. What’s also worth knowing is every hour on the hour the fountain in the grounds fires up, something Jo and Jamie really wanted a photo with so we had to make sure we were down there and ready for it :) The guests and Marie made their way back to Curradine Barns while we did this so that they were ready for our return.
A relaxed start back at Curradine Barns only we then realised after a while that the bouquet had been left back at Witley Court so when everyone sat down for their meal I raced back. Thankfully the guy on the gates remembered me and I ran across (it’s surprisingly large) to the other side where I last remember seeing the bouquet (while getting very odd looks) and thankfully it was still there and still as lovely as it was when we left it, I was afraid it would have wilted because it was hot! I haven’t mentioned the heat yet, oh my it was hot!! The rest of the evening went without a hitch and everyone had a laid back evening in the sunshine. We did a few more couple shots in the grounds before their amazing band kicked off what was set to be a fantastic evening. Here are some of my favourites from their day:
